David P. Roye, MD, chief of Pediatric Orthopaedic Surgery, NewYork-Presbyterian Morgan Stanley Children’s Hospital; and Joshua Hyman, MD, associate attending at NewYork-Presbyterian Morgan Stanley Children’s Hospital and associate professor of Clinical Orthopedic Surgery at Columbia University College of Physicians & Surgeons were recently recognized as MDx Patients Choice Physicians.
Drs. Roye and Hyman – Patients Choice Physicians
The honor reflects the appreciation and exceptionally high praise for the quality of care that Drs. Roye and Hyman provide to their patients. Every month, more than 200,000 patients across the U.S. provide online feedback about their doctor experiences. They rate various components of the care they receive, such as bedside manner, doctor-patient face time, follow-up care, ease of appointment setting, and courtesy of office staff. They also share their overall opinions.
Over the course of 2011, these patient reviews totaled in the hundreds of thousands. However, only physicians with near perfect scores have been recognized as Patients Choice Physicians. In fact, of the nation’s 720,000 active physicians, only five percent received this honor from their patients in 2011.
Dr. Roye specializes in the treatment of scoliosis, the correction of spinal deformity, and the care of patients with cerebral palsy, and is a pioneer in pediatric scoliosis surgery.
Dr. Hyman specializes in pediatric orthopedic surgery. His areas of clinical interest include hip disease and dysplasia, complex pediatric spinal disorders (scoliosis), limb lengthening and deformity, club foot and other foot deformities, cerebral palsy and neuromuscular disease, fractures and sports injuries.
